Exotic Designs started in Pagliare del Tronto in 2016. Luca Marchetti had spent seven years at agencies in Bologna and Milan — long enough to understand how the industry worked and which parts of it were not working particularly well.
The Le Marche region has a specific economy: mid-sized manufacturing and agricultural businesses with international customers, hospitality businesses serving a tourism market that values quality over volume, professional services firms with deep local roots. These businesses needed serious design work. They were not well served by generic regional agencies and could not easily access the larger-city studios that would have understood their market.
Exotic Designs was built around this gap. The studio takes on a small number of projects at any given time — never more than four active projects simultaneously — so each one gets the attention it needs. The team of three is small by design. There is no account management layer between clients and the people doing the work.
Since 2016, we have worked with wine estates, industrial firms, hospitality businesses, legal practices, food producers, and professional services companies across Le Marche, Umbria, Abruzzo, and Lazio. The work is mostly in Italian but increasingly in English as more clients pursue international markets.
The name Exotic Designs was chosen to be memorable in a market where most studio names are either geographical (Studio Marchetti) or descriptive (Creative Solutions). It is not a promise about visual style. It is a commitment to making work that stands out from what surrounds it.
We take on a limited number of projects at any time. Three people, all work in-house, no outsourcing to anonymous contractors.

Luca started Exotic Designs in Pagliare del Tronto in 2016 after seven years at agencies in Bologna and Milan. He came back to Le Marche specifically — it is a better place to work and think, and the client projects are more interesting than the volume work that defines larger-city agency life.
Valentina leads all brand identity work at Exotic. She studied visual communication in Urbino and has a particular interest in how traditional visual languages from Central Italy translate into contemporary brand systems — which gives our work in the region a specificity that generic branding misses.
Giacomo handles frontend development and motion design. He is convinced that most websites are slower than they need to be and more static than they should be. He is usually right about both. Before Exotic, he worked on interactive installations for events and museums.
